ABHC Zagreb Continues Its European Journey Through the Waves 4 Active Europe Project
ABHC Zagreb continues its participation in European projects. Following the successful completion of projects focused on the development of a volunteer system for the organization of beach handball competitions, as well as mobility activities, the club is now entering a new chapter through its involvement in the Waves 4 Active Europe project.
The project is coordinated by the Bulgarian Handball Federation, with the participation of 14 partner clubs from different European countries.
Last weekend, from 28 to 30 March, the project’s kick-off meeting was held in Varna, Bulgaria, attended also by representatives of our club. The meeting marked the beginning of a new international cooperation aimed at promoting important social and sporting values.
In cooperation with the project partners, the main goal of the project is to promote an active lifestyle, especially through sport, bringing people together, and encouraging the involvement of young people. A strong emphasis is placed on environmental and economic awareness, as well as on sustainability in sport.
As part of the project, a beach handball tournament for younger age categories will be held in Bulgaria in September this year. In addition to the sporting programme, the event will include workshops focused on the project’s key objectives. Each partner club will be responsible for one specific topic and will present it to all participants during the September activities.
Through its participation in this project, ABHC Zagreb continues to strengthen its human capacities and invest in the education of its members. Projects like this provide participants with new experiences, help them develop new skills, and create opportunities for personal and professional growth together with European partners.
