New date for 2011 European Beach Handball Championships

The
7th edition of the European Beach Handball Championships and the 2nd
European Beach Handball Championships for younger age categories will be
organised by the Croatian Handball Federation. The major Beach Handball
events will be held in Umag, Croatia.

For
the very first time the happening will contain of four combined
tournaments, the 2011 YAC European Beach Handball Championships for W19
and M19, and the 2011 Beach Handball European Championships for women
and men.

The
event also includes more premieres. For the first time the final games
will be played in a fixed stadium for 4,000 spectators. The
“International Tennis Centre” in Umag is one of the most popular
sporting venues of Croatia and hosts a regular ATP tournament.

The tournament will also introduce Beach Handball evening sessions, as all playing courts are equipped with artificial light.

Due
to a motion of the Croatian Handball Federation the date for the event
has been changed, please find the final date, confirmed by the EHF
Executive Committee:

The
two Younger Age Category competitions will be carried out between 30
June and 2 July 2011, the senior competitions between 4-9 July 2011.

The
harbour town of Umag is situated on the north-western coast of the
Istrian peninsula. Being located in the heart of continental Europe it
is easily reachable by all transport means. Nearest airports are Zagreb
(CRO), Rijeka (CRO), Ljubljana (SLO) and Trieste (ITA).

On
23 March 2011 the next tournament workshop will be carried out with the
Croatian organisers, where further details for the staging of the event
will be decided.
